- Promote Scientific Spirit: To actively encourage advanced research, teaching methodologies, and healthcare innovation through healthy national competition.
Mandatory Eligibility Criteria
To guarantee that the honor goes to the most deserving professionals, the Ministry of Ayush enforces a strict evaluation checklist:
- Exceptional Field Work: The applicant must possess a stellar record of contribution toward the promotion, propagation, and international integration of Ayurvedic medicine. Contributions in policy planning, R&D (Research and Development), and academic teaching are highly valued.
- Measurable Social Impact: Candidates must demonstrate direct or indirect societal benefits through localized, national, or international health interventions or integration into various National Health Programs.
- Professional Standing: Applicants must be renowned Ayurvedic practitioners with an absolute minimum of 20 years of verifiable professional experience.
- Minimum Age Barrier: The professional's age must not be less than 40 years at the time of application submission.
- Recognized Qualifications: Candidates must possess a legitimate degree in Ayurveda recognized as per the regulatory provisions of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) Act, 2020 or the Indian Medicine Central Council (IMCC) Act, 1970.
- One-time Honor Restriction: Past laureates and awardees will not be eligible for a second consideration for the exact same award category.

To honor this lifelong commitment, the Government of India limits this recognition to an elite circle. Only three (3) exceptional awards are presented annually.
Who Can Nominate & Selection Protocol
The Nomination Path: The gateway is highly accommodating. Eligible Ayurveda practitioners have the freedom to either **self-nominate** through the portal or be **nominated by another individual**, peer, or public institution recognizing their genius.
The Screening Process: Once submissions close on June 30th, all digital portfolios move to a specialized committee. The applications undergo careful screening to build a comprehensive matrix evaluating essential benchmarks, desirable milestones, and extra institutional accolades. Final scoring charts determine the definitive selection list.
