Choose the right admission route

Read the current board notice for the exact AYUSH programme and category. Keep residence/category documents and any institutional or central-seat application requirements separate.

Central counselling

Use the AACCC pg stream for the institutions and seat categories included in its current bulletin. A state application does not register you with AACCC.

Jammu and Kashmir admission

Check the separate authority notice for the exact course, quota and session. State, institutional and nomination processes must be identified before paying a fee.

The name of a state in this directory does not confirm that a local college, a specific course or an independent counselling round is available there. Establish that from the current official seat matrix.

02 / PG GUIDE

Eligibility: what to check before applying

For postgraduate study, start with the relevant AIAPGET discipline and qualifying degree. Do not apply undergraduate qualification or NEET-UG rules to a PG seat.

CheckWhat your documents must establish
Degree and disciplineThe accepted qualification for the notified Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani or Siddha programme. A score in one discipline does not establish eligibility for every PG programme.
InternshipCompletion by the deadline stated in the applicable bulletin. Keep the completion certificate and check any officially revised deadline.
Professional registrationThe required registration with the appropriate council, in the form accepted by the admission authority.
AIAPGET resultThe relevant session and discipline, qualifying requirements and any official eligibility revision.
Quota eligibilityState, institutional, in-service, sponsored or other conditions, only where the seat category is actually offered.

Domicile, category and seat eligibility

Before adding a Jammu and Kashmir preference, identify which seat pool you are applying to. A college can have more than one admission route, and the conditions may differ.

  1. Find the quota and category labels in the official seat matrix.
  2. Read the matching residence, schooling, institutional or service conditions in the bulletin.
  3. Check the issuing authority, validity period and format for each claimed certificate.
  4. Confirm whether an outside-state candidate can apply to that specific seat pool.

Do not assume a fixed reservation percentage or a universal “open state” rule. If a certificate is pending, follow the stated deficiency or correction process rather than assuming it can be submitted after allotment.

Dates, rounds and reporting

The current round schedule must come from the official Jammu and Kashmir notice for PG. This guide does not label an old announcement as a live registration window.

StageRecord these details
Registration and paymentOpening date, separate form/payment closing times and transaction confirmation.
Verification and correctionsOnline or physical mode, deficiency deadline and revised eligibility list.
Choice filling and lockingAvailable choices, edit window, locking method and saved preference receipt.
AllotmentProvisional versus final result, allotted course/college and required acceptance action.
Reporting and joiningLocation, date, exact time, original documents, fee payment and joining receipt.
Next roundFresh registration eligibility, retained choices, upgrade/exit conditions and vacancy list.

Read revised notices before acting. Registration, choice locking and reporting can close at different times on the same day.

Your application, step by step

  1. Identify your seat route. Match AIAPGET session, course, quota and authority. Open the portal from the authority’s own notice.
  2. Prepare the file set. Use legible scans in the specified size/format and names matching your certificates.
  3. Register and pay. Save the application number, submitted form and successful payment receipt; a bank debit alone may not confirm submission.
  4. Resolve deficiencies. Check verification status, correction notices and the eligible-candidate list.
  5. Order your preferences. Compare recognition, specialty, clinical training, stipend and bond. Save the locked choice list.
  6. Read the allotment instructions. Complete acceptance, fees and physical/online reporting exactly as directed.
  7. Keep proof of joining. Collect the admission acknowledgement and read the next-round rule before opting for an upgrade or exit.

Fees: build a complete admission budget

Keep counselling payments separate from the cost of the course. Use the official fee notice for your category, institution and quota; a figure from another state or level is not a valid substitute.

PaymentWhat to verify
Registration / applicationAmount, category concession, payment method and refund policy.
Security depositApplicable seat pool, amount, refund conditions and forfeiture triggers.
Tuition and admissionApproved annual fee, one-time charges, payment deadline and permitted collection method.
Hostel and other costsAccommodation, mess, examinations and refundable institutional deposits.
Stipend and service bondWritten stipend terms, any deductions, compulsory service and bond consequences for the exact institution.

Never treat “refundable” as unconditional. Preserve receipts and check the authority’s published refund process and bank-account requirements.

07 / PG GUIDE

Compare specialties and PG institutions

Build a specialty-first shortlist. For each Jammu and Kashmir option, record the exact programme name, department, permitted seats, hospital workload, teaching unit, stipend terms, course fees and any service bond.

A college offering an undergraduate programme is not evidence that it has an approved PG seat in your specialty. Use the session’s discipline- and specialty-wise matrix, then cross-check the institution’s applicable permissions.

Compare like-for-like closing ranks: the same discipline, quota, category, round and rank type. An overall AIAPGET rank, category rank and state merit position are not interchangeable.

08 / PG GUIDE

Upgrades, exit and security deposit

Read the round-specific rules before you choose to join, upgrade or resign. Do not assume a Round 1 facility remains available in a later round.

  • Fresh registration: is a new applicant allowed, and is another payment required?
  • Choice retention: are previous choices carried forward or must you fill a new list?
  • Upgrade: what happens to the existing seat if a higher preference is allotted?
  • Exit or resignation: which mode and deadline are valid, and is an acknowledgement required?
  • Forfeiture: which actions affect the deposit or eligibility for later rounds?
  • Other counselling: how does joining a central, state or institutional seat affect further participation?

Keep the official notice and a copy of every acceptance, resignation or joining acknowledgement. An informal message to a college may not count as a valid portal action.

Documents to prepare

Use this as a preparation checklist. The Jammu and Kashmir bulletin determines the final documents, formats and number of copies.

  • AIAPGET admit card, scorecard and relevant rank details
  • Qualifying degree/provisional degree and all professional marksheets
  • Internship completion certificate meeting the notified deadline
  • Required professional registration certificate
  • Identity and date-of-birth documents
  • Category, disability, domicile, institutional or in-service certificates where claimed
  • Application, payment, choice-locking and allotment receipts
  • Any prescribed bond, undertaking, transfer/migration or relieving document

Keep originals available for the notified verification/reporting process. Check spelling, dates, category and registration details across documents before submitting.

A LITTLE MORE CLARITY

Jammu and Kashmir PG counselling questions

Does AACCC registration cover state counselling too?

No. Treat AACCC and the relevant state or institution as separate application routes. Check whether you need separate registration, payment and document verification for the seats you want.

Can I use an undergraduate college list to choose PG seats?

No. Check the current specialty-wise PG matrix and the relevant permissions. An undergraduate programme does not establish postgraduate seat availability.

Can an outside-state candidate apply?

Check the exact quota and category in the Jammu and Kashmir notice. Do not infer eligibility from the college being private or from a general “open state” description.

Are the reference fees and cutoffs current?

Reference notes are dated background material. Use the applicable session’s official fee order and round result. A previous closing rank does not guarantee an allotment.

What matters most before choosing a specialty?

Compare the recognised programme, department and clinical exposure, seat category, fees, written stipend terms and any service bond before ordering choices.
